[X] de ruimte binnenin is a written exploration of the relationship between mind, body, and inside and outside spaces. By means of three characters, this research novel demonstrates the gradual unfolding of a physical, almost obsessive relationship with the surrounding space. The depiction of the parasitic and aggressive properties of this relationship was based on in-depth research on alienation and the deconstruction of identity caused by spatial environments. The ‘fight’ between the three characters was inspired by ‘The Immortal Game’ (1851), an aggressive chess game played by Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky. Parts of this ‘research novel’ were based on performative actions I executed in the context of the mind, body , space project.
