NL/ Het Dorp is een fictieve stad die sinds 2023 in opbouw is. De stad wordt gebouwd op het principe dat de gebouwde omgeving een rechtstreekse vertaling is van de menselijke ziel. De groeiende stad verwelkomt daarom elk jaar enkele nieuwe
‘inwoners’ (lees: architecturale vertalingen van herinneringen aan plekken en personen). Haar bouwstijl combineert elementen van de Vlaamse vormgeving met referenties naar zowel haar geboortestad als haar huidige omgeving. De humoristische en satirische ondertoon die Mirte’s ontwerpen kenmerken, komen samen als een vorm van stil activisme, waarbij ze op speelse wijze de stand van zaken uitdagen en sociale commentaar leveren.
EN/ Het Dorp is a fictional city that has been under construction since 2023. The city is built on the principle that the built environment is a direct translation of the human soul. Therefore, the growing city welcomes a few new ‘inwoners’ (read: architectural translations of memories of places and people) every year. Her architectural style combines elements of the Flemish landscape with references to both her hometown and her current environment. The humorous and satirical undertones that characterize Mirte's designs come together as a form of quiet activism, playfully challenging the status quo and offering social commentary.
